It is hard to believe that has been 10 months since my previous release. But then I quickly remember that these past months of 2021 have been some of the worse in my entire life. Excessive work, poor health (currently investigating why) and the pandemic's "new normal" all have taken their toll in me. Which explains why I had three different albums on my WIP folder and only managed to complete this one in time for an October 16 release. Oh, why this date? It's my birthday and because I'm quite a stubborn perfectionist. I have been releasing new albums on October 16 since 2008 and it has become quite the tradition, one I am not quite ready to break this year. Welcome to Zegema Beach!

I had not produced a Live DJ Set since "The Outer Haven" sessions released between 2009 and 2015. I grabbed 12 new and old 140 bmp tracks and mashed them together into a single (nearly) hour long banger for you to enjoy. I've also added the original tracks as bonus on disc 2 and disc 3 just in case you were not familiar with their original album releases. This was a fun project to work on, but thanks to unexpected poor health the production time slide all the way to just a couple of hour before release. That's a first in my entire 22 year career I ever cut a release this short. For the first time in my life I had to stop and think that eventually one of these albums will be my final release. So why do I keep doing this?

Legacy! When my journey on this great adventure ends, all these albums is what I leave behind. It never mattered that very few of these releases break free from the algorithm prison that keeps them buried deep on the web or that I can hardly ever reach my so called "target audience", I hope all of them help paint a picture of these past decades of my life for future generations to enjoy. that said, it is time to rest for a bit so I hope you play this loud and enjoy!

About the album cover photo:

You will find the original photograph used for this album cover in the Art/Photo folder. I took it with my Samsung Galaxy A30s using wide cam in Algarve on August 2020. No filters were used, it was around 15:00 and the sky had some insane streaking clouds that were making sunlight look quite out-wordly. All the shots taken that day were good album cover candidates, I just picked my favourite one. It was just a matter of swapping the Hue to make it look like Mars.

David "ohohDave" Oliveira (1983-2021)

Great friend, entertainer, variety streamer, a delightful person that instantly cheered any room he walked into. All I wish is that he was recognised for his talent and dedication in life and succeed on all his amazing projects and ideas. David battled cancer for 15 months in the ongoing pandemic before the dreadful news of his passing in May 22. Me and many others miss him every day. He was one of Shiryu Music's most devoted fans and taught me that neither YouTube of Twitch are platforms worthy of our talents. May he rest in peace.

David "byuu | near" Ginder (1983-2021)

I have lost track on how many decades I have been seen emulation growing and growing every single year, with amazing breakthroughs only possible by collaboration between talented folks working on reverse engineering old video game systems. David was one of these people, working hard on several English translation projects. However his greatest work is bsnes, the very first Super Nintendo emulator to achieve 100% cycle accuracy emulation and capable of running every single official Super Nintendo and Super Famicom game release with no hacks. Sadly David life was not without personal trouble and he was target by online harassment groups until he took his own life on June 27. Please make sure you help your vulnerable friends and family who might suffer from depression.
